Season 4 introduces a major overhaul to the affix system for Legendary and Rare items. The number of Diablo 4 Items affixes on these items has been reduced to three for Legendary items and two for Rare items. Tempering System
The Tempering system is a new feature in Season 4 that allows players to customize their gear further. Tempering Manuals, obtained by Diablo IV Items defeating enemies, contain various affixes centered around specific builds or themes. These affixes can be applied to items at a blacksmith, and if the result isn't satisfactory, players can re-roll the affixes up to the item's Tempering Durability limit.
